The OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation (OPSI)  and its partners at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation are excited to convene innovators from around the world for a conference on Innovation in Government: The New Normal on 20-21 November 2017. The conference will highlight insights from OPSI’s work with countries that are transforming their operations and improving the lives of their people through innovation. It will bring together government leaders, public servants, and innovative partners in industry and civil society to connect, share experiences, and collaborate.

We have developed a document outlining relevant logistical information for your attendance at the conference, including travel information and details on nearby hotels. You can find this at http://oe.cd/opsiconferencelogistics

Theo Francken

Belgian Government
State Secretary for Migration and Asylum and Administrative simplification

The previous legislative period (2010 – 2014) Mr. Francken excelled as a Member of the Federal Parliament for the Flemish National Alliance (N-VA) by focussing on “his” domains of expertise: Asylum and Migration, Defence and the House of Royalty of Belgium.

As a Member of Parliament Mr. Francken succeeded in forming an alliance with the centre-right parties in the federal parliament to vote important laws which made a more rigid asylum and migration policy possible.

The state secretary started his political career in 2001 as an advisor on Education and Integration in the Flemish Parliament for the political fraction of the N-VA and later as the joint chief of staff of Flemish Minister Geert Bourgeois, now the Prime Minister of the Flemish Government.
